AP Mitchell were appointed by Equans in 2022 as the principal mechanical and electrical engineering contractor to undertake an ASHP installation project at Frodsham Manor House Primary School, forming part of an engineering upgrade package we delivered to a number of schools across West Cheshire on behalf of the Council.
Mechanically, our works at the site involved the supply and installation of a Daikin heat pump, a new Andrews gas-fired water heater, new Cordivari buffer vessel, dosing pot, and air & dirt separator within the school plant room. We also installed a new Grundfos circulator pumpset and distribution pipework, complete with thermal insulation, to connect the new equipment to the existing services, as well as a number of new K2 and Caspian SL radiators throughout the building.
As part of the electrical works at the school, AP Mitchell provided new mains distribution cabling and fixtures, including a new busbar chamber, section board and fused isolators to serve the new plant. The BMS within the school was overhauled, providing easy and automatic control over the new equipment, and was linked to the fire alarm system.
