AP Mitchell Group were contracted by The Jockey Club to undertake a boiler installation project at Kempton Park Racecourse. This project saw AP Mitchell Group acting as the mechanical and electrical contractor, and we were responsible for the supply and installation of the various plant items which were installed throughout the main boiler room at Kempton Park Racecourse.
2 No. Remeha Quinta Ace 90 kW boilers, hung on a cascade frame kit were fitted into the boiler room to replace the old, existing boilers. The boilers were accompanied by a Remeha low loss header, Grundfos UPML shunt pumps and vertical flues. Also within the boiler room, AP Mitchell Group supplied and installed a new Santon PP300B hot water cylinder, a Flamco pressurisation unit and 2 Wilo circulation pumps. The installations were served via newly installed hot water pipework, complete with insulation.
Electrically, our work at the Kempton Park Racecourse boiler room involved making modifications to the existing BMS within the boiler room to accommodate the new equipment, as well as installing a new Boilerguard panel system to provide an interface for gas sensors and thermal links.
